FAQs

  • The clinicians at CPP are some of the highest trained therapists in the state. We invest in ourselves so we can provide you with the best care possible, and charge a rate commiserate with our experience and education. However, many insurance companies do not consider the expertise of a clinician, nor the cost of attaining it. Thusly, they often reimburse the therapist at rates 1/4 that of our private pay rate. Our therapists would have to carry triple their case loads to make a decent living. If they have to see more clients they can't have a good work/life balance. If they can't have a good work/life balance they get burned out. If they are burned out they can't provide the superior service we are known for...and ultimately, you suffer.

  • We accept all major credit and debit cards, as well as Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Health Savings Account (HSA) cards. We do not accept cash, cashapp, zelle, vinmo, paypal, or any other payment apps.

CPP is in network with several insurance companies. For those we are in network with, we bill them directly. For those we are not in network with, we provide documentation for clients to send to their insurance company to seek reimbursement for services. We cannot guarantee that any insurance company will honor reimbursement requests. Please contact your insurance company first, for more information on what out-of-network reimbursement services are covered under your policy.

  • The Attendance Policy at CPP states that you must cancel your appointment 24 hours in advance. If you do not cancel your appointment 24 hours in advance, or you do not show up to your appointment, you will be charged the full price of your session.

  • CPP automatically charges you the day before your session as is stated in our Attendance Policy. If your payment does not process appropriately, your appointment will be canceled unless you have previously discussed an accommodation.

  • The Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) is a research based doctoral degree that indicates a specialized, expert set of knowledge. PhDs produce the clinical knowledge therapists use in their practice settings. These degrees take more than four years to earn; and are granted by the entire university instead of one specific department. It is the highest level of education one can achieve. The Doctorate of Social Work (DSW) and Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD) are practice related doctoral degrees that are specific to their academic domain— social work and psychology, respectively. These expertly trained professionals are highly qualified and exemplify the highest level of education one can achieve in their respective clinical discipline.

Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT), and Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) are highly trained and qualified clinicians. They have a minimum of a master's degree in their respective field; and have clocked at least 3000 hours directly providing therapy to clients like yourself. Additionally, our LCSWs, LMFTs, and LPCs have advanced training in Emotionally Focused Therapy for individuals, couples, and families; and Gottman Method Couple's Therapy. They are either internationally certified or on track for certification.

Licensed Master Social Workers (LMSW), Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapists (LMFT-A), and Licensed Professional Counselors-Associate (LPC-A) are highly qualified, yet provisionally licensed therapists. They have a masters degree in clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, or counseling psychology; and have provided treatment to clients for over a year. These therapists are working toward their hourly requirements for full licensure; and our personal practice requirement of EFT and Gottman certification. They work in conjunction with one of our experienced supervisors honing their craft. Working with one of our provisionally licensed therapists provides a more affordable approach to high quality mental health treatment

Social Work Practicum Students (SWPS), and Marriage and Family Therapy Interns (MFTI), are second-year graduate students in an accredited masters degree program. Our exceptional interns complete a one-year internship at CPP under the supervision of our licensed therapists. Working with one of our interns offers therapy as low as $10 per session; plus you still have access to the support of a highly trained supervisor.
